The Ubuntu Project

The Ubuntu Project is led by qualified Zambian nurses who work with boys and girls in secondary schools and community youth programmes, creating a safe space to talk about life, relationships and the challenges they face. Over ten weeks, young people explore safeguarding, healthy relationships, recognising abuse and exploitation, self-worth, respect, puberty and menstrual health, helping them make informed choices and look out for one another. At graduation, every participant receives underwear, while girls also receive a reusable menstrual hygiene kit to support their health, dignity and continued education.

Family Safeguarding Program

Building on the success of the Ubuntu Project, the Family Safeguarding Programme is an exciting new initiative that extends safeguarding beyond the classroom and into the home. Delivered by the same qualified Zambian nurses, the programme works alongside parents and caregivers to build safe, supportive homes where children can thrive. Through open discussion, practical activities and shared experiences, families explore safeguarding, recognising abuse and exploitation, healthy relationships and positive parenting, gaining the knowledge and confidence to protect children and strengthen their communities.
